Stay At Turkey Hotels And Visit Local Animal Attractions


If you’re a family taking a holiday to Turkey, there are plenty of attractions for all the family. The Ataturk Forest Farm is a lovely alternative to a regular zoo, letting you get up-close and interact with the animals. There are lots of Turkey hotels in the nearby Ankara. If you’re visiting Cyprus or Greece, the options there include the interesting and beautiful Mazotos Camel Park and Rhodes Ostrich Farm.

Family-run Mazotos Camel Park in Cyprus is easy to get to as it’s close to Larnaca, Limassol and Nicosia. Animals can be seen and petted, including deer, ostriches, donkeys, kangaroos, goats and ponies. There is also a swimming pool, with a restaurant and cocktail bar overlooking it. Visitors are encouraged to be photographed and ride on the camels, which are the park’s biggest attraction. They can ride on the animals and explore the grounds on a ‘safari’ ride. Camels are also available for us during school excursions and birthday parties, and the restaurant can cater for up to 400 people. Kids can play in the bouncy castle, swings, go-carts and flight simulators while the adults relax in the stunning park. There are plenty of Cyprus hotels nearby to the park including the Petrou Bros Hotel Apartments, which offer pretty gardens and a swimming pool, close by to beaches and the airport. Other options include the Atrium Zenon Hotel, which is a short walk from Larnaca Marina, the beautiful Phinikoudes (palm trees) promenade, and the long sandy beach; and the four star Sun Hall Hotel, located in the centre of cosmopolitan Larnaca.

Before you head off to Turkey, make sure you have a great place to stay. Hotels which are close to the Ataturk Forest Farm include the Deniz Atlanta Hotel, also close to Kizilay Square, Ethnographic Museum, and Kurtulus Park. Also nearby are Kocatepe Mosque and Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. Ataturk Forest Farm is basically an independent modern farm and it considered a place of natural beauty boasting farms, a zoo, brewery and a selection of delicious restaurants. There is also a mock-up of Ataturk’s House. There is an assortment of lovely places to choose for a picnic, as well as hiking and cycling trails. Animals that can be spotted here include sheep and cows. There are lovely spots to refresh yourself and grab and ice cream or home brewed beer, and char-grilled kebabs at the traditional Turkish restaurants.

Rhodes Ostrich Farm and Park is a fun place to explore while in Rhodes, and there are plenty of Greece hotels nearby. It’s a popular attraction among families, as well as visitors of all ages and showcases many different species of animals and various activities. Obviously there are ostriches here (over 120 species of them in fact), but you can also visit birds, camels, deer, goats and donkeys. Camel rides are available and are offered to adults as well as get more info children, with lower prices for those under 12 years old (as is the entrance fee). The onsite restaurant even offers ostrich fillets, ostrich egg omelets and ostrich burgers.
